Technical Delivery Manager

Location: Boston, MA or remote


Position Summary:

This is a great opportunity for candidates with a strong consulting and technical background to lead in a rapidly growing, fast paced environment. The e-Spirit Consulting team assists partners in achieving our clients' strategic e-business objectives through successful technology solution implementation. We provide business and technical guidance as well as FirstSpirit product expertise. Execution with a high degree of quality and client satisfaction. The Technical Delivery Manager reports to the VP Professional Services.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage overall project issues; analyze more complex project issues, identify the possible solution options, and facilitate the presentation and review of the options and our recommended solution with the client or partners; identify product issues and collaborate with technical support and engineering to drive resolution
  • Manage escalations and give strong guidance to the project team and the client
  • Possess the right balance between technology and business/functional expertise
  • Deliver outstanding and sustainable business value and client satisfaction
  • Attain client credibility through demonstrable experience with web content management technologies combined with project management
  • Deliver on all aspects of project management for chosen projects
  • Support and work with the sales teams in pursuing opportunities, providing consulting expertise, proposals, estimates, etc. as needed
  • Mentor and guide others on the team, from new hire on-boarding to ongoing delivery excellence and display outstanding communication, problem solving and consensus building skills
  • Efficiently multi-task, working across multiple client engagements at the same time as well as key internal initiatives
  • Proactively maintain the highest level of expertise by staying current on client and project management techniques as well as FirstSpirit technology capabilities through internally and externally available learning opportunities as well as self-study
  • Must be willing and able to travel as needed and regularly (50% on average but up to 80%) within US and Canada with possible travel overseas at times

Position Requirements:

  • A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 6+ years experience in managing complex software implementation projects
  • Certification and or master in one of the major project management methodologies (PMP, Prince, Scrum etc.)
  • 3-5 years of Web and/or ECMS technologies experience
  • Mastery of more than one delivery methodology
  • Strong facilitation skills in all levels of client meetings
  • Articulate business solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent client interaction skills and demonstrated ability to manage complex and challenging clients and project teams
  • Partner with the sale teams and support the sales process
  • Experience with CMS Systems, Java, Web server technologies HTML, CSS, etc.
  • Understanding of Web servers, e.g. Apache and how web sites are constructed
  • Familiarity with key web/content management technologies used by the team such as Java, JSP, HTML or CSS
  • Experience with testing methodologies and performance requirement management
  • Highly motivated and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple clients and/or engagements
  • Adapt to and work effectively with a variety of clients or partners and in challenging situations, employing strong facilitation skills and establishing credibility and trust quickly
