Relaunch for N24.de with added video clips
The new website of news channel N24 is now available online. The website at www.N24.de has been completely revamped and updated with several new functions. The main highlight of the new news portal is the video clip service. A video player has been added at the top of the channel’s homepage showing the latest news in web video format. Via the site’s extensive media centre, visitors can search for and watch reports, videos and news. The new N24 site offers visitors a whole host of interactive options. Visitors can comment on and rate news features, upload their own photos or videos, participate in blogs and blog TV broadcasts, or create individual news playlists in the media centre. This new N24.de site was produced by SevenOne Intermedia, the multimedia branch of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group.
The news channel’s new online services form part of an overall strategy to merge TV and multimedia editing, and to offer news from a single source across all media types from mobile phones and PCs to TVs and infoscreens. Since the beginning of the year, the entire editorial content has been produced from a joint newsdesk in Berlin Mitte and has been broadcast via various media channels such as TV, internet, mobile receivers and podcasts.
Dr. Torsten Rossmann, Managing Director of N24 explains: “At N24 our aim is to establish a website that ranks amongst the top five information portals in Germany. The strength of the TV brand will help make the channel’s new website N24.de one of the leading multimedia news providers."
Tobias Oswald, CEO of SevenOne Intermedia adds: “The new N24.de website offers a unique news platform with a focus on moving images. This gives the website a significant advantage over other news portals in Germany, which have yet to implement this technology.”
Michael Cremer, Head of N24 Multimedia comments: “I’m delighted to be able to present our visitors with a brand new N24.de. This new N24 portal has the appeal of television but offers real added value in combination with the N24 TV channel. Videos, images and text are combined to optimum effect.”
The new N24.de portal was realised by exozet interact, Berlin in cooperation with the Dortmund-based CMS provider e-Spirit.
In December 2007, N24.de achieved 10.2 million page impressions and 2.5 million visits according to data from IVW. This makes it one of the most visited news portals on the German internet. N24.de is part of ProSiebenSat.1 Networld, the network consisting of Sat1.de, ProSieben.de, kabeleins.de, N24.de, wetter.com, MyVideo.de, Lokalisten.de, maxdome.de, billiger.de and Oktoberfest.de, and is produced by SevenOne Intermedia and marketed by SevenOne Interactive.
