With launching the AppCenter on the CeBIT 2011 trade show, e-Spirit provides the only solution on the market supporting the straightforward interface integration of virtually all (web) applications whether from Cloud and SaaS environments, or from the desktop directly into the CMS.

This results in a whole new experience for online editors, since applications that were previously used separately are now available right in FirstSpirit with the accustomed interface and functionality. This makes the editing processes faster and more efficient – with thousands of different applications.

With the FirstSpirit™ AppCenter, key programs for daily editing procesess can be integrated easily in the CMS, e.g. online image databases, image editing, video, geolocation and web analysis services, encyclopedias, office programs as well as virtually any other (customer specific) application. Work can be processed in the central FirstSpirit editor interface more comfortable, efficiently, and with media continuity - regardless of the data source.

Without detours - working directly in the CMS

A new feature in release version FirstSpirt™ 4.2R4 is the office integration: editors can directly view and edit office documents in FirstSpirit's integrated preview, save them to the media management area in FirstSpirit and publish them to a website or the intranet. Editors are thus spared the extra effort of editing documents simultaneously in another program and instead can work directly in the CMS – which saves time, simplifies quick website updates, and frees up resources for other tasks.

This new standard function is a cross-platform feature that also supports OpenOffice integration in addition to Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, as well as Writer, Calc, and Impress documents can be opened and edited in FirstSpirit before publishing online.

The editor has everything in view

With the integrated Live-View, the editor has a direct WYSIWYG view of their page within the JavaClient of FirstSpirit™. As well as the form-based screen for content maintenance, the editor can simultaneously see what this page would look like after deployment. This view is updated in real time on saving. The editor can therefore make changes to the content and directly check thanks to Live-View – even in PDF documents or Flash files!

Find content with just one click

In the FirstSpirit™ SmartLounge, the relationship between the editing screen and Live View is highlighted in colour. The area edited by the editor in the content maintenance screen is marked with a border in the Live Preview and shows which section is currently being changed. Conversely, SmartLounge tracks the editor's editing wish: a click on a section in the preview automatically calls the corresponding maintenance screen and highlights it.

Work directly in page preview

The FirstSpirit™ ContentCruiser is especially designed to meet the needs of editors who want to make fast and easy changes. This requires no knowledge of FirstSpirit™'s technical processes. The editor works directly in the project preview and can edit the page with only one click. The ContentCruiser is a pure browser-based WebClient and can therefore be used immediately with Internet Explorer and Firefox, without any need for additional software installations.

Structured working with several work contexts

The Multi-Tabbing function in FirstSpirit™ enables several elements to be opened next to each other. With this, a single editor can switch backwards and forwards between their own individual work contexts, e.g. between creation of a data record and picture editing. In this way the editor can set up their own personalised work area which ideally suits their tasks.
