Simply versioning individual text elements and media is not sufficient to satisfy compliance requirements in complex means of communications such as on internet sites. Details: Traceability and versioning
Comparing versions with FirstSpirit CMS Zoom
Comparing versions

Complex internets and intranets are created by collaboration between many participants, who maintain and work on the systems in parallel. This results in the need to be able to trace development steps. 'What changes were made to a text?', 'How was a picture changed?' and 'Which content was released when and by whom?' - these are typical questions from everyday editing work. In order to be able to answer these questions, all changes in FirstSpirit™ are versioned and are available both for comparison and for renewed use.

  • All changes to each object (texts, media, templates, database content) are versioned
  • All old statuses can be viewed, compared with other versions and restored.
  • Visual version comparison between any versions
  • Display of changes, deletions, releases, additions and move operations.
  • Output channel independent version comparison (not only HTML)
  • Coloured visualisation of all changes on comparison
  • Display of concealed changes, e.g. in old tags of pictures, keywords in an HTML page or on adding elements from drop-down lists.
  • Versioning including all modifier information (time at which change made, responsible editor, etc.)

Platform neutrality

The platform neutrality of FirstSpirit™ ensures outstanding integration capability in heterogeneous system landscapes.

Details: Platform neutrality

The platform neutrality of FirstSpirit™ is characterised by:

  • Support for any web, application or portal server for the live system
  • 100% Java implementation

Separation of content, structure and layout

FirstSpirit™ ensures consistent separation of content, graphic display and structuring of the information - this ensures high levels of usability.

Details: Separation of content, structure and layout

Combined with the central storage of all media for all output channels, a range of other advantages are also achieved by the strict separation of content, structure and layout.
