A whole new dimension of information management
e-Spirit’s Content Management System optimised for global companies / New feature: Integration of external data sources via connectors
The global product supplier e-spirit AG is presenting FirstSpirit 4, the latest version of its content management system (CMS), at this year’s CeBit. Over six days from March 4 to 9, prospective buyers can attend live demonstrations, presentations, lectures and see practical examples to learn more about the many new technological features the integration platform has to offer. One new feature is the ability to connect most external data sources by way of connectors, which offer the added convenience of a preview function that is available for all data types. Thanks to Java technology, it is also possible to program connectors to customer-specific databases and systems with a minimum of effort.
Together with its partner companies ARITHNEA GmbH, HLP Informationsmanagement GmbH, Exalead S.A., adesso mobile solutions GmbH and Burda Digital Systems GmbH, e-Spirit will be demonstrating a range of solutions for different industries and applications at booth E30 in Hall 3.
FirstSpirit 4 has been optimised to meet the needs of global companies now and into the future. For example, companies now want information that is stored centrally in the Internet, intranet and many different portal landscapes to be available for other uses. This requires the use of the latest technologies like Web 2.0, Wikis or even blogs. The key to efficient, low-cost information management is to consolidate content from the relevant platforms.
What global companies demand from a CMS
Company-wide information management and the related requirements in terms of integration, consolidation, compliance, distribution and content development can evolve quickly. To remain competitive, a company has to be able to react flexibly to any new situation. “For us, this means FirstSpirit’s architecture has to meet all present and future needs of global companies,” states Jörn Bodenmann, CEO of e-Spirit AG. “It must be possible for several editors to maintain and publish our customers’ content in any number of languages using any font. Furthermore, connecting databases and integrating CMS into SAP, IBM and Microsoft environments have to be fully supported and easy to perform. Users should also be able to maintain content on basic client PCs with little previous training.”
Partner companies: adesso mobile solutions, Burda Digital Systems, Exalead, ARITHNEA, HLP
Together with HLP, e-Spirit will be presenting the SAP NetWeaver® Portal Business Package for FirstSpirit for professional web content management in the SAP portal environment. The content workplace for editors working in the SAP NetWeaver® portal is a new feature, which makes content handling much easier, leading to greater efficiency and speed.
Our partner ARITHNEA will demonstrate FirstSpirit in action, including examples of the migration from version 3.1 to version 4.0, and eLearning as a means of providing low-cost training on how to use the editing functions of the CMS. The Akamai Cache Control module and FirstSpirit used in combination with Hybris will also be on show.
At CeBit, Exalead will demonstrate the added value offered by integration with FirstSpirit. Users can navigate through the entire content configured in FirstSpirit to get the exact results they require by using the preset categories created in FirstSpirit.
Burda Digital Systems will be showcasing several Web 2.0 projects that are offered as services. The company has already completed several projects with FirstSpirit, including websites for beQueen and Bon Gusto, two genuine online brands.
Together with its affiliate company e-Spirit, adesso mobile solutions GmbH is presenting the integrated solution “web in|MOTION”, designed for quickly and easily developing and maintaining mobile portals.
