Dortmund, August 7, 2018 – e-Spirit, maker of the FirstSpirit Digital Experience Platform (DXP), has signed German department store chain Karstadt as one of its latest e-commerce customers, underscoring its experience-driven commerce capabilities. Karstadt has set itself the goal of becoming one of the strongest omnichannel dealers in Germany by 2020. The cloud-driven FirstSpirit DXP help Karstadt create commerce experiences that optimally inform, advise and compel customers to action - on the Web, mobile and digitally in the Karstadt branches.
Content and commerce with e-Spirit and Salesforce
Karstadt uses Salesforce Commerce Cloud for its commerce system. FirstSpirit DXP extends Salesforce functionality to include content management, AI-based personalization, and omnichannel marketing capabilities. Ready-made FirstSpirit content modules such as photo galleries, blogs, and shoppable videos are already pre-configured and can be used quickly for a unique user experience. Karstadt is thus able to better curate topics and products digitally, operate storytelling more easily and encourage customers to buy directly.

In the future, Karstadt will be supported by Arithnea, which also belongs to the adesso Group and is responsible in particular for the introduction and operation of the FirstSpirit DXP.
